Any Canadians with a Dell 2001FP?

Hi,

Have any fellow Canadians ordered a Dell 2001FP online? If so, where/how? The price on dell.ca is significantly higher than the US based Dell price.

I have tried to order from the US based Dell and have it shipped to the US, but since my Visa is Canadian, Dell cancelled my order.

The only other option that I've seen is to order through ebay, but I'm not sure I'll get the support I need if there are dead pixels, etc.

Anyone able to offer some advice?

I got mine from Dell USA and had it shipped to the US for pick up. When I originally placed the order I used my MC but listed the billing address as the same as the US shipping address, even though its not. I got a phone call from Dell questioning this, and I then told them my billing address was actually in Canada. To my surprise they did'nt seem to have a problem with this and shipped the monitor.

Did you get a phone call from them? If not maybe try again and use a US billing address.

Dell Canada is such a rip off. I have heard of some people bargaining with them by phone to get closer to the US price, but it's still a lot higher.

The monitor is fantastic, hope you can get it.

the other option you may have is to buy one from ebay who will ship to canada for a decent price. the prices are just a bit higher than it would be if you bought it from dell in the US (with coupons and discounts), but since Dell.ca is much more expensive, you will be saving in the end.

I got mine from Dell.ca and got them to match the price
on the US site. I was just phoning to complain and they
came up with the idea so I ordered it on the spot.
(It came and works great).
