Default You Will Fold

From the Amazon.com review of The Book of Bluffs

"Twenty years ago, Mike Caro wrote the book on what to look for in a player's movements, gestures, and facial expressions--their "tells"--to determine if they were bluffing, and it remains one of the bestselling poker books of all time. But what Caro didn't do was teach players how to bluff. Enter Matt Lessinger, a professional poker player and columnist, who in THE BOOK OF BLUFFS shows players how to get their opponents to fold--no matter how strong a hand they've been dealt. Lessinger reveals how, with the correct timing and artistry, bluffing will allow a player to win while holding an inferior hand--the very essence of poker."

Once I read this book, I will beat you all. My 72o will fold your QQ. <manical laugh>HAHAHAHAHA!!!!</manical laugh>

That sounds like an awful book, which surprises me, because I remember that Matt wrote a very good column on a 7 card stud tournament hand. In it, he did a very good job of explaining how to count outs using an understanding of your opponents holecards AND upcards.

Actually I think it sounds pretty interesting. I would love if some one would give a review of it.

Actually, you sound kind of foolish if you think that it might work.

Hi Snowball:

Sometimes stuff this silly comes from the publisher and not the author. Assuming that's the case, you shouldn't judge the book until it comes out.

Best wishes,
Mason

Maybe it is the idea of a book on bluffs that got my interest. Not the crazy idea of making everybody fold every hand.

Considering it's published by Warner books, it's likely that the blurb was writen by some $11/hr entry level marketing kid who's only exposure to poker is ESPN

I agree. If we go by covers I would have never bought Poker Essays 1,2 or 3 since they have a blackjack hand on the front of them for some reason.

Books on bluffing are good for poker. I wish more people spent time studying Caro's book on tells and Lessinger's book on bluffs, and less time reading SSH, HPFAP, MLH, HGIYLH, WTOIHP.
