$5000 gtd rebuy on pokeroom, down to 18. Two relevant stacks, UTG has about 65,000 and I am on the button with 63,000.Blinds 1500/3000. I am currently in 9th. UTG raises to 12,000. Not a great read on UTG, this was probably my 4th hand at this table. I call on the button with 88. Was this a bad call? I had position and a solid pair if he is raising with AK or AQ. Flop comes 679. UTG pushes for his remaing 53,000. What is the play here?

Not a bad call at all, preflop.

I call the bet actually. Assuming a worst case scenario where he has an over pair (JJ-AA) you have ten outs to beat him. I personally put him on AK here, I made this EXACT same move the other night on the final table of the 10+1R FT on Stars...guy called me with middle pair...and I was out. I won't be doing it again...but this guy might. ;-)
