Default Making my move up to 10/20 - Wish me luck (NC)

Played a quick session last night with the drunk donks. Dropped a few BB's but really felt like I was getting the money in with the best of it. Going to start by dropping some marginal hands and getting my VPIP down to around 24-25, though this will probably happen naturally due to the increased preflop aggression. I'll start expanding my 3-betting arsenal as I get more comfortable. From what I saw last night as well, it looks like folding TPGK to turn c/r's is usually (but not always) a bad idea HU, and sometimes you just need to find a way to get to showdown. Wish me luck.

Folding almost any pair or even A-high to turn c/r's is a mistake HU against a lot of 10/20ers.

Don't be afraid to use the 3-bet for free showdown play on occasion. It shows you are not to be trifled with.

Good luck.

As a general rule against unknowns I would say this applies to the 5/10 as well.

I did the same thing last night, but with 5/10. It went more than well. I'm sure you can beat the 10/20 and will do well. Good luck with the attempt.

By the way, are you doing it with any restrictions? 10k hands, 100BB?

Running good is fun. So far, I have only had one losing session of 10/20, which was yesterday. And I only ended up down about $500 on the session. However, there was a stretch of about 45 minutes or an hour in the middle of the session where I lost $1600. That was much less fun.

Good luck man - I actually did the exact same thing last night after putting my toe in the water a few times in the past. I am committed to playing 20k hands this time though, and won't stop and evaluate 'til I hit that mark or lose 500BB.

I used to think 5/10 was perfect for me and I could play it forever, but staying at the same level for any length of time really gets stale quickly...

See you there and I look forward to kicking around hands on here.

So much for that. After today's massacre, I'm back to even on 10/20. Lesson learned: this can be a swingy game.
