I deal for a company in Houston that does Poker tournaments. As we do get paid to deal the tournament we actually make more money usually from TIPS and the tips range from 5-10% of the amount won. If multiple places pay out most players tip that 5-10% based on the amount the won by finishing in the money. I did deal a tourney where the entry was $100 and 1st place was $10,000 and the 10 dealers received no tips. It is the same theory as tipping a waitress yes they do get paid hourly but tips are a huge portion of their income. It is also comparable to tipping a dealer at cash game they do get paid by the hour (usually) but most people tip every hand they win.

Shirley or Bart, there is a thread on here arguing which has the higher variance and suckouts. Omaha H/L or Hold'em (assume limit) Any ideas for the answer? I always thought Omaha h/l has less variance cause of the splits despite less info about your opponents hands(more combos in their hands)

Very strange for Diablo to be playing like this.

I have heard (someone can correct me if I'm wrong) that the 3% is further divided among dealers, floor, other tournament staff, etc. My understanding is that if someone leaves a tip "for the dealers", then it doesn't get further split up among the rest of the staff.
