3/6NL: Turned the nuts: how to extract the max?
Button is 65/15/2 and bad
No read on SB...he just arrived. What is your action on turn now? I don't want to scare them off. If I 3-bet I might as well say "I got da nuts, everyone please fold!." How do I extract the most here? Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (6 max, 5 handed) converter saw flop|saw showdown Hero ($575.25) MP ($652.40) Button ($967.80) SB ($584) BB ($1404.75) Preflop: Hero is UTG with A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 5[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. here's a hint, don't bet less than half pot when you hit the nuts.

Re: 3/6NL: Turned the nuts: how to extract the max?
If you don't raise here, you are going to feel like a real a-hole if someone else has a low flush or a set and a 4th diamond comes on the river. I assume that you wanted to elicit a raise when you bet the turn so weakly. You got it. Try and get more money in the pot now.

min re-raise... he's a donk -- donkeys don't lay down to min-raises... they often push.

min re-raise... he's a donk -- donkeys don't lay down to min-raises... they often push. [/ QUOTE ] i am having a hard time thinking of a situation where threebet min(read: donk) raising is a good idea. i would not have underbet this pot, but it is not the end of the world....in my mind there are two priorities now that the action is back to you....giving yourself a shot at a big pot and protecting your hand. u say button is bad, this could be exactly how he plays 222 or 444, now u can raise here and bad players are not laying down....dont give him odds to fill up b/c i can assure u if bad player even acknowledges the possible flush he is thinking the board COULD pair on the river....ALSO, the sb is cold calling here, that should be a statement.....there is a good chance he has made an underflush here, this is a limped pot.....it all adds up to 3 bet and 3 bet big....off the top of my head i am thinking 275ish, but i dont have the stack sizes pulled up....in sum....you have made a great hand against at least one bad player, i am plotting how to stack someone off here. |

I think calling is not so great here. Pot would only be $340 on the river, with you needing to get $500 more in there.

Get money in now. River pair or diamond will suck. Raise big.

Re: 3/6NL: Turned the nuts: how to extract the max?
Pop it to $300+ and hope you'll either get a set come along for the ride or some donk who can't let go of the 2nd nut flush. The problem with a smaller raise is that if the board pairs, your out of position with a hand that is going to be very hard to let go of or another diamond coming will kill your action from a set so get it in there now out of position like this.

I agree with most of the posters.
You really have to raise this (and you should have bet more on the flop). Your hand is in no way invincible. Ryan |
