Re: God is Love
As long as you are back there is another question I have for you. Perhaps you won't say "enough" this time. What about the Pope proclaiming that it believes Evolution is basically a correct theory. Can you be a Christian by your standards and still believe that?

Re: God is Love
The Pope and The Catholic Church have an official stance regarding evolution. I don't know the details but it seems to disagree with your stance. Can someone be a Christian by your standards and still have the stance that Catholics have regarding evolution?

I'll answer your question with the same precision you asked it.
Yes, no and maybe. Try this link: http://www.cin.org/users/james/files/whatsaid.htm |

Re: God is Love
I read the link.
"In 1950, Pope Pius XII indicated in his encyclical Humani generis that the idea that God used evolution to create the body of the first man did not contradict the deposit of faith." Do you agree? |

Re: God is Love
Phrase it like this:
"In 1950, Pope Pius XII indicated in his encyclical Humani generis that the idea that God used evolution to create the body of the first man did not contradict the Bible" And I would say though there's no convincing evidence, and therefore it seems highly unlikely, I can't say the statement is certainly false. |

Re: God is Love
"The God of Sklanskyanity loves too. In fact is is unconditional love"
Why do you insist on clinging to this premise. It is the weakest party of your religion. |

Re: God is Love
So it is not a sin to believe in evolution as long as humans who eventually appeared were given a special spark by God?
Then why bother to make such a big issue of it? |

Re: God is Love
[ QUOTE ]
Then why bother to make such a big issue of it? [/ QUOTE ] I don't. Most Christians don't. That's why I want a definition of evolution before I discuss it. Evolutionists insist on chance and atheism. My posts have focused, not on the question of how God created man, but God vs. chance. I think the evidence for monkey becoming man is virtually non-existent, but the assertion that monkey became man by chance is self-defeating and absurd. When Sagan says "Evolution really happened" I go ho-hum. When he says "The cosmos is all there ever was, is or will be" he gets my attention. |
