I like fifth, but really don't understand fourth unless you are just screwing w Roland.

I do this with small pairs when want to see another card and figure this will get me a free card. I also like messing with roland.

I think this an easy fold on 3rd street when a jack completes into an ace...seems legit. Then the ace calls. Then you have a pair of 9's and your straight cards are all gone (so little chance of backing into that). I muck.

On 4th, I would just bet and hope to get raised by the jack. I'd rather not build a big pot when I likely have a second best hand. On 5th, I probably just bet again, but I hand it to you...nice play with the pair and big draw.

Jeff

Third is a fold with the 2/4 structure, right?

Roland is almost as tight as this woman in South Carolina that I used to bang, fold one more.

I like fifth. 3 betting if the ace raised?

Third is a fold in any structure, against me. Unless you’re planning to push me off my hand, of course. Grrr.
This is $3/$6 though.

Jeff, I ran this table over in the first half hour I was there. I went up to 500 right away, and then didn't win a single hand over the next two hours. It was really strange.

Anyway, I posted this more for Roland's sake then for mine.

Roland is a very smart guy. He gives his opponents credit for being as smart as he is. That's a problem.

The only time you're doing that is either they're a table full of nits or the deck is hitting you.

I've played with Roland too. He's tight but not a nit. Sounds like you got a good deck and then a bad one. That takes what kind of player you are out of the equation.
