Default What\'s a table bankroll rule of thumb?

Dumb nob question, and I probably could have spent 15 mintues searching for the answer, but I'm fried, not to mention what ever the hell I took for my sneezing fit as wasted my ass....

I know that your overall bank roll should be about 300BB, but for limit, what should you take to the table?

And at what point, if any, should you bail?

I read in Avery Cardoza's basic poker strategy book a rule of thumb of 15BB as a table stake, and I've pretty much used that...

My plan is to leave if I get below 1/2 of that, which is of couse very often, and I usually leave when it's a big fat goose egg.

I typically have a monster hand in the first few hands after sitting down (to the tune of 15 BB) then piss it all away+ some....

15BB's is too low IMO, once you're down to 10BB, you could be costing yourself potential bets you could put in if you make a monster hand and want to put alot of $ in the pot.

I sit down with 30BB's, re-evaluate if i should stay once i hit 10BB's

Currently I used double buy ins at Party -- 50bbs for a buy in. Never let it get below 12.

Oh, and theoretically, you should never get up from a table when you think it's profitable.

Live, you typically buy a rack of the small blind chips. So in a 2/4 game, you buy 100 $1 chips, for 25 big bets. That's usually what I do.

25BB is a good amount I think. I've never lost that much at a table, closest I came was 21.5, which I did today (though I made back 20.5 at a different table ). Some advocate 30-40, but it'll be rare that you need that much.

Yeah, I sit with 25 too. I have no good reason, I just do. Then I rebuy at around 15. I don't ever like to get too low. (Of course, if this downswing doesn't reverse soon, I may not have the option of rebuying...)

yeah, but it's nicer to stay away from the minimum so you never have to rebuy
