It's not dumb if it's helping you to get back on track. But eventually you'll have to get past that point and not be afraid to blow back early session profits. After all, you could be standing in the way of a monster session.

I'd reread the section in SSHE called 'Gambling Concepts'. Specifically 'Where the money comes from.' Read it over and over. Ed does a fantastic job in this part of the book. I consider it one of the most important parts of the book, and likely the least reread.

Edit: For added inspiration, read Dynastys '4th year in Vegas'(inside the 3 years in vegas thread). He describes his own online bad swing a bit in that post and a brief mention of his thinking during it.
