Bad crying call?
Average online 2/4 game
4 limpers to me in BB w/ A9o flop comes A 7 8 w/ two hearts (I'm heartless) I bet out feeling pretty decent about my ace, and get two callers. Now the turn comes 6 of hearts I check, one check, one bet, I call, other player callls. River 9 spades Now I have top two pair w/ a four straight and 3 flush on the board w/ about 7 BB in the pot. I check and the first player comes alive and bets. Late player folds. Action to me w/8 BB now in pot. I make a crying call. Bad call? I think all my play postflop is questionable, and would appreciate any and all comments. |

Re: Bad crying call?
The only relevant question is would this player bluff-bet the scare card more than one time in eight. If the answer is yes, your call was right.

Re: Bad crying call?
No, its a good crying call, and that describes it perfectly. I hope you ran into a slowplayed AJ.

Nutty turns over 7/5 diamonds and rakes the pot.
It makes me sick to my stomach when I go into check/call mode and I always wonder if I should have shown more aggression. On the flop its 5 handed and I feel like I have the best ace in an unraised pot. Good place for a checkraise? I generally tend to bet here to keep out a free card. Most aces will also raise me here and I can make an early decision wether to continue. On the turn I was thinking "what are they calling the flop with?". That card completes alot of draws. I thought I'd rather snap off a bluff than pay a raise (I'd fold to a raise). With that being said, how do you feel about calling an early bet, and checkraising the late bet? It wouldn't push out the straight draw but would make them pay heavily. |
