10-20 at Borgata
I'm on the BB with 6s 6d. UTG folds UTG+1 raise, everyone folds, action to me and I call.
Flop Q 8 6 rainbow I check,he bets I call. Turn 2d making it two d on the board. I check again with the intention of raising the river,he bets I call. River 3d making three diamonds on the board. I check, he bets, I raise ,he three bets. Coments on all streets all welcomed. There's nothing more alluring than a glass of Bordeaux. |

Check-raise the turn, bet and call a raise on the river.

Any info regarding UTG+1? Against a decent player, I would fold preflop getting only 3.5:1.
Of course, you got an absolutely gorgeous flop. Check-raise the turn and bet the river. The problem with your line is that he may check behind you on the river. Once he 3-bets you on the river, just call. |

Re: 10-20 at Borgata
Hi Scalafab,
I would definitely bet out on the flop. You are headsup and if he has any aggressive tendencies, he will raise you automatically to represent a big hand. This would give you a chance to 3-bet and lead on the turn, putting pressure on him. If you are lucky, he will have A-Q or an overpair and call you down or even cap the flop. If he has A-K, he will call you for at least one bet to get lucky. Shame on him if he does. I don't like check-raising very much. I feel most players use it incorrectly and often miss bets. Barry Tenenbaum has a terrific article in this week's CardPlayer regarding this subject. I think you lost this hand to a nut flush. |
