It seems that they are differentiating between VPP (VIP player points) and FPP (frequent player points). This means that even though at certain levels we collect FPPs more rapidly, the VPPs collect at the same rate no matter what level you are at.

For example, as a SilverStar you will collect 1.5 FPPs per actual FPP but only 1 VPP per actual FPP.

The only real difference is that it might be a little harder to maintain the desired level than I expected.

For example, to maintain PLATINUM status you have to collect 10,000 VPPs EVERY MONTH, and the fact that you are already PLATINUM does not help you to accumulate these points any quicker.
