Torre Cash and Matsui stay put
Bernie either goes or resigns to be a Tino type player...i.e bench/back-up. Giambi moves to DH...solid defensive 1st baseman is signed. We trade for prospects in order to aquire Tori Hunter or J. Piere for CF. If we sign Damon it will be a disaster becuase he wont settle for less than 4/5 years at 11-13 million. He'll be good for a year maybe two but then start to fully breakdown. players who could and probably should be traded Sheffield- he's in his walk year and there is no way we resign him. Posada- He's old..lotsa wear on that body...his bat is slowing down. Wright- Question is will anyone want him Pavano- Bet Florida would take him back in the right deal. He'll never be good as a Yankee.

steinbrenner is nearing the end of his tenure as yankee owner. his son, swindal, will take over as owner after him. swindal is reportedly not a batshit insane meddler like george.

looks like lee mazilli is coming back to be a bench coach for the yanks as well.
