Default am i a donk for the check here???

3/6 B+M game (tight/fairly aggressive table image)
table is as lush as they come... filled with lotto chasers, and weak/passive players...
UTG= loose/passive, will hunt down with A-x or any middle pair despite clear evidence he's beaten
UTG+1 is the ONLY semi-credible player at the table
MP2= loose/passive but nothing too out of line
button= is really one of the worst players i've seen in a while, seen him call 2 in MP/LP with 5-2s, and 8-4 off, then call down to river with bottom pair
... really was a beautiful table...

hero is in big blind with A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 9 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

pre flop:
UTG calls, UTG+1 calls, 1 fold, mp2 calls, 2 folds, button
calls, sb folds, hero checks

flop comes: 5 players (5 small bets)
A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 9 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 2 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]
-hero bets, utg folds, utg+1 calls, mp2 calls, button calls

turn comes: 5 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 4 players(4.5 big bets)
-hero bets, UTG+1 calls, mp2 folds, button calls

river comes: 2 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 3 players (7.5 big bets)
- hero checks, UTG+1 checks, button checks

is this a horrible river check???
any other ideas on how i could've played better???

just bet the river, tons of bad hands will call you at B&M 3-6

I think you should bet the river. If Button just made trips, then that's unfortunate, but you're probably best.

The flop and turn are fine. So is preflop, I think, but I'd consider raising.

Definately beating yourself up here is the right thing.

No brainer river bet. No one likes losing here to the moron flopping his set, but what I like doing here is if he does suckout on you here with his 62o is make him feel good about it, "man its your night, you can't miss" being positive here not only helps your mood for being rivered but encourages him going for it for the rest of the night.

You've got to continue to bet out, let them pay you off.
