I agree ...

It seems that Paradise was the first internet poker site, then everyone stole their software. I believe that there was already a "money balancing" subroutine in the software that probably most sites kept or modified.

I am of course paranoid.

I see alot of strange things. Try playing heads up, buy in for 20% of what your opponent has. Bet/Raise/Reraise every time (slow down at 5 bets preflop and 3 on each street). You will bust your opponent more than 1/6 times. Is this rigged for short stacks ... building pots ... ?? who knows. I tried this as an experiment at the micro stakes to try and determine the sites algorithms.

Just kidding (sort of).

I think it's obvious that the best way for an online poker site to ensure a long and profitable life, is to run crooked games. After all, there's just no money to be made in running honest poker games online.

You know, it really was one of the most interesting online poker is rigger threads I have seen in a while. How did it become a taco thread?

I don't agree with the OP that this is happening at PS, but its an interesting question as to whether some sites may someday feel incented to use their software to guarantee that the fish pass over the rake a few extra times. Pokerstars never, they have too much to lose. But what about the smaller sites, as the become economically desperate, as they near the point where they have to post some good short-term results in order to find a willing buyer for their site?

One of these days a site is going to be exposed by evidence of "non-random" card patterns. I hope when that happens it doesn't chase a lot of people away. I do not understand why there isn't already an inspection/certification company or group out there to protect us and these sites against the impression of rigged cards.

[/ QUOTE ]

Why would poker sites go out of their way to pay someone to fiddle with the algorithm when:

1) A regular deck of 52 cards gives bad players the chance to suck out on good players.
2) If they get caught, they lose ALL their business.
