Default QQ on ugly board

New button limps, he has 5,800 after winning 800 off me last hand, never seen him before. He limps on buttion I raise to $400 in SB with QQ. He calls, flop is JT5o, I bet pot $900 he calls. Turn is 8 and puts 2 clubs up, pot is $2700 he has a little more than 4k left. In the game, I checked, how do you like that?

I like it if you plan on checkraising all in.

*I don't play this high*

Actually he bet $1200 and I just called that, with no plan yet for the river.

JT8, after he limped and called my raise? he could have two pair, and if he has one pair he folds. with the stack sizes and pot sizes as they are it seems awkward

I think this is an ugly board for 2 pair from opponents perspective. I think he raises flop if he has top 2.

edit: *JT8 is ugly for top 2, not JT5...it's the former right?*

If he is aggressive, c/r all in. If he is passive, push? Doesn't seem like laying down an overpair on a draw heavy board against a short stack would be a good idea here.

I'd either push on the turn or check-raise all-in. I'd lean toward pushing if I wasn't sure he'd bet.
