I tried to do it every time he says dude, and smoke whenever he smokes. I quit half of the way through the movie, and was really [censored] up. I think I went through like 9 beers in a little more than a hour.

This is my preferred version. It has the added advantage of being simple enough that you'll still remember the rules by the end. Also, note that "Duderino" etc count.

This is the game that I have most frequently heard of as the "Big Lebowski Drinking Game," but you will not make it through the movie playing it. Any of the other suggestions are also good, and likely to get you pretty f'ed up as well.
