Default $5.5 Flopped OESD newbie question

Hello! I've played some sngs but not too many. This situation came up and I didn't really know if I should play for the straight or pick up the pot right there. SB was fairly tight trying to steal some blinds but usually folded when bet on flop if had nothing. I picked up MANY pots by betting on flop. If I catch up my straight and he gets something I might get his whole stack edit(not whole stack just as much as I got ) or part of it. Is it too risky? Any help appreciated!

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t100 (5 handed) converter

MP (t2970)
Button (t1100)
SB (t5660)
Hero (t2450)
UTG (t1320)

Preflop: Hero is BB with 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img].
3 folds, SB completes, Hero checks.

Flop: (t200) 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets t300, SB folds.

Final Pot: t500

I look at this as a classic semi-bluff. The chips have to get in the middle somehow, and you possibly buy yourself a free look at the river by betting here.

If he comes at you on the turn you have a decision to make. Because of your read any bet on the turn likely means he has at least something, and you can decide whether or not to continue. Even if you end up folding, you're still a solid 3rd in chips five-handed with a 20+BB stack which is not a bad spot, eh?

Wee!

I like the bet, but I think it should be smaller. I'm not a fan of overbetting pots.

Okay thanks. There is another hand also I would like to discuss about. It includes the same player as the first hand (SB) now he is UTG.
PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t150 (4 handed) converter

SB (t1795)
BB (t1050)
UTG (t4835)
Hero (t5820)

Preflop: Hero is Button with K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img].
UTG calls t150, Hero raises to t750, 2 folds, UTG calls t600.
I think my raise was too big but I didn't really know how much to raise to get the pot HU.

Flop: (t1725) T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players)
UTG checks, Hero bets t600, UTG raises to t1200, Hero raises to t1800, UTG calls t600.
UTG has something. Only thing I'm afraid is slowplayed aces.

Turn: (t5325) 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players)
UTG bets t1000, Hero calls t1000.
Maybe raise this turn? I was going to call all-in or go all-in on river anyway.

River: (t7325) 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players)
UTG bets t1285 (All-In), Hero calls t1285.

Final Pot: t9895
