(O/T) I'm going to Vegas!!!

Let me first apoligize for the off topic post, but I could not think of a better forum to post this in ...


I've never been to Vegas before, but a few of my classmates have arranged a trip to Vegas in a couple weekends, and I said I'd go.

Six Canadian guys on the stereotypical 3-day trip to Vegas. I guess we're staying in a mini-suite at the Flamingo ...should be a blast!! [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]

Anyway, I had a couple questions and I thought this might be a great place for answers:

I play a lot of internet poker, but my B&M is somewhat limited - mainly because it costs so much time and gas money to go to the nearest casinos. The lowest limit I can find live here in Ontario is $5/$10, which is all that I've ever played in a casino - and do well at that limit when I do play.

However, online I consistently beat up to the $3/$6 games (4-tabliing) for a substantial amount.

What is the skill level like in the live Vegas games? What stakes would you recommend that I play, providing I have the finanical freedom (weekend bankroll) to play?

Anything else you guys strongly recommend doing? or places we should definitely go?

Bellagio my friend. You won't be unhappy. I've played up to 8/16 there and if you can handle 3/6 online you'll do fine.

You might want to check out the B&M forum, they have a lot of posts as to which places are better to stay in, casino experiences, etc.

You will also want to look at All Vegas Poker for some info on card rooms. Cheapo Vegas also offers reviews on card rooms.

I've been to Vegas 3 times, and played in a few poker rooms. Bellagio was EASILY my favorite. Have a great time there. And be sure to hop in a cab one night and tell him to take you to "Crazy Horse". (You'll thank me later) [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]

i don't think they have 5-10, but i would say that 99% of the time that a 4-8 and 5-10 are offered side by side, the 4-8 is the superior game.

those white chips induce action, and the even nature of the red chips in the 5-10 kill the action. hell, most 3-6 games are better than most 5-10s imo

5/10 live is comparable to 1/2 online.

I played 5/10 the other night and even with a lose table there was a limit to how much you could actually lose.

Only about 30 hands an hour dealt that night.
