Default Cross-Post: Playing for charity next Friday

Hey all --

Next Friday night, my good friend and occasional 2p2 poster Fudgenut and myself are going to play poker for 4 hours and donate our winnings (hopefully it's a winning session) to Habitat for Humanity (though each of us have set a cap of $1000). I would like to encourage as many of you as possible to join us in this charitable endeavor or create your own.

Moreover, I am willing to handle any administrational purposes if you wish to donate any of your winnings but don't want to personally take the time to bring the money to Habitat for Humanity to give to them (which would mean you'd inter acct transfer or neteller me whatever donation you're making). I can provide whatever proof you desire that they receive the money and I do not pocket it myself.

Thanks all.

- Mike

Your avatar is the Nutz.

Good luck on a winning session. Your efforts are commendable. I wish I was currently in the financial straights to join you. (Sorry about the cop-out reply.) However, this will inspire me in future endeavors.

This is a wonderful idea that I hope many more people take up. A very close friend of mine died of breast cancer a few years back and I have donated all money won (or minimum $500) on her birthday to breast cancer research. Last year was a little over $2000.
