Despite all the saracasm, which I expected, hopefully this thread will be enough to get my friend, who's poker experience consists soley of royal vegas poker, $5nl sng home games, and WPT, to see the light and stop the insanity. Of course, he'll probably say that posters in this forum don't know everything, but i guess the royal vegas players do.

You gotta play 1k-2k, otherwise the rake will eat you alive in the long run.

[/ QUOTE ]

this is so true. a friend of mine who absolutely kills the 1k-2k live games started playing online a few months ago and he was 4-tabling the 100-200 at poker stars. he was crushing the game, making at least 4BB/hour/table before the rake. but at the end of the month, he realized there was a bug in his poker tracker and for some reason it wasn't taking into account the $3 rake. needless to say, he ended up going broke and i had to stake him $400k so he could get back on his feet in his regular 1k-2k game.

Who one chooses to keep as friends reflects on himself. Your friend is a complete moron and a douchebag. You can finish the syllogism.

"I have a friend who has just begun playing poker and is under the impression that all pros make their money by playing $1000/$2000 games and tournaments"

"Your friend is a complete moron and a douchebag."

The friend is new to poker and he's under the wrong impression of what stakes the pros play for. That's all he says about him. On 2+2 that qualifies him as a douchebag and it's suggested the poster question keeping him as a friend. Wow.

Intelligence is usually expressed with terms such as douchebag. Thank you for sharing your exeprience and intelligence with all us, i'm sure it will improve our poker playing experience and our life in general.

Lost all respect for the sarcastic posters. Nothing is nor ever will be constructive about sarcasm. Mean spirited bulls..t. Ever heard of just doing the right thing?

Default We Lose!!!

It appears that Bob T, in an effort to sabatoge all hopes of the sS forum, has posted a well thought out, meaningfull reply. While the SS forum has only replied 2 nonsarcastic posts to mid stakes 3 at this time, bob went as far as to talk about BB per hour plus the effect of multitableing.
Bob i may never forgive you
