At first glance I thought it was a clear push. SNGPT says it's a pretty clear push even if you put the shorties on maniacal ranges. Why do you not push absent any reads?

Edit: This post is directed toward those who said to fold, not to deathpotato.

I also actually kind of prefer being in the cutoff and not the button here. A lot of players respect a cutoff raise a lot more.

You'd rather be in the CO than BTN for an open push? No way....only if I have a really big hand. This hand here isn't that really big hand.

Interesting Yugo... I wish I read your post about an hour ago, I tried pushing a worse hand (Kx 4-5 handed L5 or so) from CO after reading his push from CO post... I lost on that very hand

fold... you're oop A6o not strong enough... you're also in good shape vs opponents chip wise... better to push a weaker hand from sb/btn, imo.

[/ QUOTE ]

however, the correct answer is usually the opposite of what I would do, so shoving is probably correct... but I still stay fold

[/ QUOTE ]

what does oop have to wit it? (Is that a tina turner song?)

anyway, raptor is too young to recall that song, but he should push here if he hasnt pushed much in the last 5 and not push if he pushed, lets say, the last 2.

This hand is all about how much I have pushed lately...I could either fold this or push it easily, but its all about feel and my image at the moment.

If you fold, you don't understand a thing about folding equity... cuz you got it here, baby.

But a push isn't necessarily the best way to do this.

The SB wants you to bust the BB, so he's folding quite a bit here. The big stack doesn't want to tangle with you, and will likely figure you have a better hand than A6 if you raise.

This might be one of those spots where a min-raise looks scarier than a push. You'd have to fold if the big stack pushes, so I would only do it if I felt he wasn't capable of doing that with anything but a strong hand. Also, if you min-raise and then fold, you'll still be the second chip stack.

If one of the short stacks shoves it in, then well, you were going to race them anyway so it doesn't really matter. They know you aren't folding, so there aren't any hands they'll push with that they wouldn't have called with.

The point is, you may gain just a tad more FE with a mi-raise because it looks hinky, and you gain the benefit of being able to get away if the big stack wakes up.
