No, playing with other people's money is an unknown intangible that could possibly throw me for a loop. I'd rather not find out how I'd react. Plus, I'd rather keep 100% of profit.

Often, when I've done OK in a session, I will make looser calls than I would normally. I can just see me thinking "there's 200 in the pot and it's 100 to me to call....hmmmmmm.... I guess really it's only 50 to me since half of its someone elses...so I have odds!"

No, because I suck at poker and I already have someone who complains about all the time I spend playing this game.

Yes, I would like someone to stake me. I'm pretty sure that I'm a winning player at 5/10 but I don't have the bankroll for it. So I can sit and grind out the 5/10 bankroll by playing 2/4 for another two months or so, but it would certainly be faster and more profitable to get someone to stake me 10K and then to jump right into the 5/10 games.

Hm, I have the opposite problem, where I am overrolled for 2/4, but the times I've played at 5/10 I feel like I've been playing scared and in a style that is not mine, and not a winning one. I actually thought about offering to stake you, but it would be a bit weird to stake someone to play higher than myself, and 10k would be a fair chunk of my br.

I'd like to be staked simply for brick and mortar
the 1/2NL 200 max at my local casinois the easiest game i've ever seen, having a bankroll for NL25/NL50, I dont really have the spare cash to play in it often.

Actually I am currently being staked. Reason why is I'm buying my 3rd house right now and just tapped out lots of my bankroll.

It's good for both of us cause he gave me enough to play NL1K instead of the NL 400 I used to play a lot. Overall I make less a hour cause I only get 1/2 of what I make, but it's still a good deal for me, the reason being is the profit I'm making from this house (great deal from owner trying to get out quickly) will more than make up for the difference in my hourly wage.

Overall for me and my staker, win win.

I definitely wouldn't enter into a staking agreement with someone for whom losing the 10K would make as large of an impact as it sounds like it would for you. When I tilt off half my BR, I would need a backer who wouldn't flip out!

Edit: If you want to discuss options for helping you beat 5/10, though, definitely feel free to PM me. Getting your own game to the point where you feel confident at 5/10 will certainly be the best long term solution for you.

Yeah I know staking is a bad idea, it just entered my mind, since I've got like 15k in my bankroll that I don't need to play my limits.

I've still got a fairly respectable winrate at 2/4, 5.4BB/100 over the last 30k hands, while in my opinion not running that great. That's really almost all the 6max poker I've played, which also is a factor why I don't want to step up.

No, I don't know if I (or anyone) could remain strategically unaffected, and I also like to be as independant as possible with such things.

Back when I was a limit player I had to cash out most of my bankroll to give to uncle sam. I got numerous offers to stake me to rebuild, but I politely refused them all. I don't regret that decision for any reason.
