KK preflop - do we push here?
25NL
Villian has ~25$, hero covers. Villian is BB, Hero is UTG. Hero gets K [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] K [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Hero raises to $1 (4x BB) Folds around to villian Villian reraised to $10 (40x BB) Hero...? Of course we are not folding, but how do we play this? A flat call will make us very angry if an ace flops as we will regret having to either fold or put rest of stack in. Push is best, right? |

Re: KK preflop - do we push here?
like 4 times out of 5 this is a push (edit: whoops. I meant that 4 out of 5 times this is not aces, but that doesn't mean you only push 4 out of 5 times. my bad. more like 9+ out of 10 times you push.) if you have a very, very solid read on this player as a tightie, you could make a case for folding. otherwise push, push, push.

I'd push. Almost half your stack is in there though so it really doesn't matter much, noone's folding

Don't risk out-thinking yourself on the flop. Get the money in now, and expect to see QQ or AK a lot here.

Re: KK preflop - do we push here?
This looks like a text book stop-n-go. Call, then move in on the flop.

This looks like a text book stop-n-go. Call, then move in on the flop. [/ QUOTE ] There is no need for this. The $10 raise signifies villain likes his hand. The money is ending up in the middle one way or another, so you may as well do it now. |

Re: KK preflop - do we push here?
K, thanks guys - I definately agree with the push.
I wish I had come to that conclusion while I was actually playing the hand, where I decided to actually flat call because I thought he would fold hands like 88-QQ vs. a push - I definately forgot that he put in 1/2 his stack lol Luckily flop came K J 9 and he had JJ Money was going in regardless |

Luckily flop came ... [/ QUOTE ] doesn't matter [ QUOTE ] he had JJ [/ QUOTE ] That's why you push PF. Villains in SSNL don't just 3bet PF with AA. |

This looks like a text book stop-n-go. Call, then move in on the flop. [/ QUOTE ] I don't like it because it lets AK, QQ-JJ get away on an ugly flop. I'd prefer the stop-n-go with shorter stacks and QQ or JJ and I put him on AK as a likely folding. |
