The Padres got lucky to sign im up for that, apparently Toronto was offering 5 years, 55 million... Obv. it's only 5 million difference, but the 2 years more is a great bonus imo, isnt this guy getting old also?

JP Ricciardi, GM of the Blue Jays, point blank said the Jays didn't offer the 5 years, but the indications are that he took less money than Toronto offered to stay in SD.
