ME entrant numbers?

any news on the # of players entered at this point?
Are we going to get over 6600?

i'm also interested in this number, seeing as i need to rework a bet i have if it doesn't cap at 6600.

Stars has 1100...so I think a safe estimate would be between 3-4k. It may reach the cap, it may not.

I thought I saw that there was 3900 confirmed as of yesterday. But they are no longer convinced it will be soldout.

Is signing up in person at the RIO the only way to sign up for the ME? If it doesn't sell out, is it possible to sing up for Friday or Saturday after Thursday?

I asked a cashier to give me the number of ME entrants last night at about 10p: she told me 4600.

i would be very surprised if they raised the cap on the tournament. 6600 seems like the definite max.

Talked to the tournament director the other night, and he said that they would "almost certainly" cap the entrants at 6600 (2000 per day, with 200 alternates per day).

He said the main reason for capping it at three days (instead of four) is that ESPN has a shooting schedule they must adhere to, and it would be difficult to rearrange it.

He did say that they have the *right* to change the schedule to add a fourth day, but most likely wouldn't...

I'm watching the WSOP Lifestyle thing on playersnetwork.com, and they had one of their WSOP people say that they're currently at 5200 signed up, expecting 6000.
