Default Paradise 40/80

My friend pointed me towards Paradise Poker and some very fishy players playing the $40/$80 games there.

So I open up the tables, watch for a bit, and sure enough there's 3-4 maniacs who have thousands of dollars to burn.

So I deposit $4,000 and sit down. An hour later, I get up from the table with $0.

What a [censored] waste.

What an incredible way to punctuate a 8 week losing skid at online poker.

Don't try this at home folks:

- Dropped $4,000 at the Paradise 40

- Dropped $17,000 at the Pacific 15 and 30 - boy those games have toughened up in last 3-4 months

- Dropped $2,000 last week at the local casino 20/40 game in one night

- 0 for 9 and counting in the Party WSOP Qualifiers with 5 close calls and two win-the-last-coinflip-and-I'm-in misses.

Thank god for the $10k cash at the PPM and the Party $15 game.

I think I need a break. Boy I feel sorry for the opposing team for tonight's playoff hockey game. I'm one mean bastid on the ice when I'm pissed off. Thanks for letting me vent.

Pete

Sorry to hear about your bad run. The Paradise 40 game is good at times, but has some tough players. I would definitely recommend taking a break. I don't know what your bankroll situation is, but if losing 4k will really hurt you, playing 40-80 (particularly shorthanded with aggro players...and some of these guys play better than appears) is quite dangerous. Good luck and don't try to win it all back in one week...it's a great way to dig a huge hole for yourself (I know from sad experience).

There should be a bad beat or complaining forum where everyone who takes a beat or is on a downswing can post there and get hugs and cuddles from everyone.

This of course begs the question: where do you think the maniacs got the thousands of dollars from in the first place?

There is so much wealth in this country its insane. These maniacs could have inherited their cash, could be dotcom millionaires, could have won the lottery, could be real estate gurus, anything....For sure, these maniacs didn't get their money playing poker, which is what you are suggesting, no?

There's a limited number of places to play high limits online and it's not like you can keep some great game as a secret. I certainly don't think there's suddenly going to be a rush of high-limit 2+2ers running over to the Paradise 40/80.

Thanks man. My bankroll is still more than fine for the meat and potatoes of my game - 15/30, but the Paradise hit last night is kind of the culmination of my bad run.
