[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Checked to the 3 bettor who bets, button raises. [/ QUOTE ] 3-bet. You couldn't ask for a better flop or better action. This one is being handed to you on a platter. [/ QUOTE ] Would you then bet out on the turn when the overcard hits? [/ QUOTE ] yes! lead the turn, you're likely seeing a showdown here and if you get raised and reraised on the turn you can fold. -Barron [/ QUOTE ] What if raised only once on turn? Call, then check-call the river? I hate playing out of position [/ QUOTE ] depends on the player who raised...if you capped pf it makes playing it a lot easier...which if you hate being OOP then you should be more likely to cap, not less likely. -Barron |

[/ QUOTE ] Is this in order to take control of the hand, or to mitigate the effect of the potential of being behind on later streets and making "pot-odds" calls against potential raise bluffs? The reason I ask is because it seems like very often people will ignore the early action and take a shot on the turn with not much. It is often enough that they may or may not have the goods and it causes a definite headache. |

Re: Another JJ hand
With no reads on the table I fold preflop and I'm surprised nobody else has entertained this idea.

[/ QUOTE ] on average, caps alter the play of the hand postflop by enough that its clear its what you should do if you're uncomfortable playing OOP. easily worth the sb. plus you cap to get equity out of callers and hopefully maybe get dead money with folders. all of these reasons make it good for YOU to cap given your comfort level postflop...people who raise cappers to take shots are definately overly agro and you would have notes/stats on them -Barron |

Re: Another JJ hand
I think that if you're going to fold on this type of flop, then you should just fold preflop.
If you're gonna play the hand, you have to be ready to 3bet this type flop. |
