Default Playerview or Gametime+?

Since there's no FAQ on this topic (here or in B&S) and searching will prove useless due to thousands of threads, I was hoping someone might be able to give me a quick rundown of each of these and I feel I am beginning to spew chips in some instances by multi-tabling and not having readily available reads on opponents.

Do people use both of them? Or do you choose one or the other?

If so, what are the pros or cons of each? Is one used more than the other.

Thanks.

I have not used Gametime+, but I like PV expect for the parts of the display disappearing until next update sometimes.

PV requires some computer savvy to set up, but I find it superior. Too bad it only works on Party so far. I use GT+ for the other sites I frequent.

I also prefer PV but use Gametime on other sites. Gametime is much simpler to set up. PV will work better if you wish to customize it. There are also some nice example setups on the PV site. Either one though, will work great.

this is true.

i have zero computer saavy other than knowing how to turn on my computer.
I struggled for a couple hours trying to get playerview to work and didn't succeed.
you have to also download some dot-net framework something or other then a lot of people apparently don't seem to like for whatever reason. I got it...but player still didn't work after multiple installations, etc.

I gave up.

Found out about gametime+ and even my computer-ignorant ass was able to get it up and running within about 90 seconds. Seriously, once you download it it's works pretty much right-away.

2 hours or more on playerview. No dice.
90 seconds on gametime+ and it works fine and dandy (and on sites like crypto, and i'm not sure what others).

playerview looks better from the screenshots i have seen with the customization you can do with it but I don't think I'm missing THAT much by using gametime+.
the biggest draw-back is that you have to wait for the next update (or force one) and then go into the gametime+ to tell it that you have added another table.

It's kind of annoying....but not too bad.
Playerview does the updating automatically when you open the table so it does save you a bit of effort there.

I believe that users of both have commented on resource-hogging after a certain while...and it appears there are some bugs for some people with playerview.

I sometimes have some kind of bug on gametime+ where it doesn't locate a table...but this is easily solved b y closing and re-opening.
So, it appears that neither is entirely bug-free.

Either one will give a ton of help though as you are multi-tabling your way along.

Bob is absolutely right, you are not missing anything by using Gametime and PV will take some time to first set up. It took me some time choosing colors for PV. Gametime however, automatically does this for you.

The only other advantages I can think of for PV is the ease of use when data mining tables. I found it to work much easier then GT. Gametime also freezes up for me every now and then.

Like Bob said, either way, you need to get one of them. They give you a great advantage when multitabling.

I just spent 12 clicks looking for a download link with no success.

If you are not part of the solution, you are part of the problem.
