Default Party Friday Special AQ in the SB with a small stack

Party $215 Friday Special

Villian has open-raised pre-flop more than should be usual, and he was tending to raise big like 4 or 5bb pre-flop.

I have notes on one hand he played:

"EP pfr 3bb, TT3 flop he cont bet, got minr then folded"

Meaning from EP he made a standard raise, then folded on a TT3 flop when his continuation bet got min-raised.

So he seems to overbet, but folds when he runs into resistance.

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t20 (10 handed) converter

Button (t755)
Hero (t690)
BB (t945)
UTG (t1020)

UTG+2 (t910)
MP1 (t1815)
MP2 (t1140)
MP3 (t965)
CO (t580)

Preflop: Hero is SB with Q icas:, A :corazones:.
5 folds, MP3 raises to t85, 2 folds, Hero calls t75, 1 fold.

Flop: (t190) 9 icas:, J :corazones:, T icas: (2 players)
Hero checks, MP3 bets t115

So what's my plan for the rest of the hand? I have about 600 left.

Sorry for the bad formatting.

I might have pushed him preflop a little more to see if he would stand up to he reriase. Something like double what he bet, especially if he had been pushy preflop but weak after the flop..

As far as what to do against the 115bet and only 600 left. I would fold wait for another better spot. I am not sure i would pay to try to draw the straight. If the flush hits, two cards to the flush are on the board, then you are out 115 and down below 500.

That is my 2 cents.

115 to call a pot of 305. Less than 3:1 pot odds. You have a OESD with 8 outs, but 2 of those put the 3 flush on board so they may not be full outs and your backdoor flush draw isn't a draw at the nuts either. If you count your aces as full outs you might be able to give yourself a total of 9 or 10 outswhich equates to around 4:1 against or a 20% chance of making something out of your hand. I wouldn't even count 9 or 10 outs here, personally, which means the odds are actually worse. Even if you do make something with this hand it's not the nuts it's very possible you could lose more of your stack to a better hand. With M well over 20 you have plenty of time to make your move with a better hand. This is a fold.

Push preflop. Push on the flop.

Sometimes you just know you're beat and you have to lay it down. Poker is about everything else but the cards.
