Default Vin Diesel

What happened to this guy? He's made some of the strangest movies choices in recent years. He had the Stallone and Schwarzenegger roles locked up for the next decade or so. So he turns down both Fast and Furious 2 and XXX2, which were guaranteed 100 million at the box office. In their places he decides to do the Chronicles of Riddick, which bombed at the box office, and now The Pacificer. The ultimate just kill my career now movie.

No. It was shown to us at the Disney Analyst Meeting. This is the movie Disney chose to show to convince us they were on the right track creatively. Go figure.

Vin Diesel is a big Dungeons and Dragons dork. I think that rules.

I believe I read that Fast and Furious was just a money decision, where Chronicles was willing to pay him a lot more. Don't know about xXx.

Money is definitely a big part of all this, but it also seems like he's trying to take roles and mold himself into a more complete actor rather than just go the action hero route, which I think is an admirable goal, even if it might be a stretch.

His next role is the lead in a Sydney Lumet mobster trial movie. After that he's lead in a big-budget epic, Hannibal.

Will be interesting to see what happens.

But haven't most action stars had success with this transition AFTER all of their big blockbuster movies? Bruce Willis & The Governator come to mind. By cememting their place in the action world, they always have a fallback as long as they keep themselves in shape physically.
