Prima poker support staff knowledge and crapshoots
Hello all,
Since there seems to be quite many nice looking satellites to different land based events at Prima Poker network, I wanted to know what are the structures of those satellite tournaments. This post is quite long, mostly because of the quotes from support E-mails. First, I sent this E-Mail to GamingClubPoker support: [ QUOTE ] Hello, Where can I find information on your LA Poker Classic / WSOP / WPTC satellite structure? I hope the structure isn`t the same as in your first WSOP satellite, since that was just a crapshoot. [/ QUOTE ] The response looked like this: [ QUOTE ] Hi there Tero, Thank you for emailing The Gaming Club Poker Room. Kindly note that if you would like to find out information regarding the satellites for the various tournaments, simply go to the following link and you will have all the information you require: http://www.gamingclubpoker.com/tourn...p?VT=36561385. Please be sure to keep up to date with our Latest Tournament information by clicking on the "Promotions and Events" button in the poker software. Be sure to spread the word of the upcoming tournaments to your friends, there is a lot of money to be won! Should you require any further assistance, feel free to contact us. For your convenience, we have a toll-free helpdesk available 24 hours per day, 7 days a week. Kind regards, Michael Customer Service Representative [/ QUOTE ] So, they had no idea what I was asking. They seem to have quite insufficient poker knowledge there. Then I asked the same question from another Prima Poker site, expekt.com: [ QUOTE ] Hello, I would like to know, what will be the structure for the EWSOP final satellite? Will it have a structure that gives better players a better chance to succeed, or will it be a crapshoot? [/ QUOTE ] The response was: [ QUOTE ] Hello Tero, A better player always has a better chance to win since poker is a skill game. I am not sure what you mean by this email. Mvh, Alexander Reutersward Support Expekt.com Ltd [/ QUOTE ] So, no knowledge there either. I also asked Gaming Club guy about it here, and he told me about the structure. It is the same crapshoot format that was used in the WSOP satellite earlier. Starting stack size is 1000, blinds are 20-40 at first level, and levels are 10 minutes long. With this kind of support personnel and tournament structures, I won't play in any Prima Poker events unless there is a good overlay (house added money). There is a really long way for Prima Poker to be some kind of competition to the market leader, PokerStars. - mongeron |
