Can\'t import Stars hands
I played some NL ring games. Had HH e-mailed to me. Copy & pasted in notepad & saved. Then I try importing, but it doesn't work. 0 hands out of 43 or so. I click the error msg & it says "Unable to get the game date(2)..." What's that mean?
Also under the From/Version is Import(2.10.00d) Any ideas? |

Re: Can\'t import Stars hands
Yes, this happened to me.
Some webmail implementations (Hotmail for sure, others probably) put crap in the text when you copy and paste. This messes up PT's importer. So the problem, unfortunately, is neither PT's fault nor Stars' fault. This means you're going to have to work around it on your own. The best solution is to get your hand histories saved to disk instead of going through email. I'm at work and don't have access to a Stars' client so I don't recally exactly how to do this. Alternatively, it *might* work to read the mail and save from a desktop email client that doesn't muck up the output. I haven't tried this. As the worst alternative, you can probably figure out the formatting problem by looking at the file with a low-level viewer and use some kind of bulk editor on the text you pasted to clean it up. PM me if you can't get through this and I'll get back to you but I cannot promise when. |

Re: Can\'t import Stars hands
Thx for the PM. I posted it on PTforum, and got:
[ QUOTE ] It's a line wrapping problem, see here: http://www.pokertracker.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=11 http://www.pokertracker.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=12 Also, Stars can save the hands to the hard drive so you can import that way instead of getting them by email: http://www.pokertracker.com/forum/vi....php?t=4539<br /> [/ QUOTE ] I haven't browsed through this problem yet. I will and hopefully it's all obvious to me . |
