Default APES are playing ONLINE using Sklansky\'s All-in system

See for yourself:

www.PrimatePoker.com

From the site:

"Success in the no-limit game is impossible without discipline—and a very large measure of instinct. Our self-controlled poker animals have an uncanny way of sensing strength and weakness in online opponents. All of our poker primates have a innate and native killer instinct. This makes them very dangerous in no-limit play.

"Each player experiences our unique, patent-pending Primate Poker™ training program. After Primate Poker™ training and Primate Poker™ testing, we turn them loose…to compete aggressively, online.

"Thanks for your interest and enjoy our site. We welcome your questions. "

This is a really worrying development. First pokerbots with Winholdem, NOW, primates who are experts in programming. I checked out the profiles and Donatello aka "pigmento" has VB6 experience!!

Apparently, they don't play multi tourneys at the moment, so I'm cutting my ring and SnG play and concentrating on these.

In my view, internet poker is finished. If there are more monkeys than fish, it's going to be a real jungle out there.

Cool site though.

I don't know, if this guy is such a smart businessman, why would he go public? I question how much money they are really making.

I'll stop in to try and watch some of the tournaments they are in and see how they play. It would be interesting to watch.

This has got to be a joke. I hope.

For one, if you were completely convinced of Sklansky's push-or-fold system, you'd implement it with computers, not apes.

And second, I'm very skeptical that push-or-fold is any good. I mean, it might do some to neutralize the edge of a decent player, but I definitely don't believe it is consistently +EV - it's just a very simple strategy that is not too -EV.

The reason why David's all-in betting is effective is that good players don't want to put their stacks at risk with less than the nuts early on in a tourney. They want the opportunity to out-play their lesser opponents.

If good players played against opponents who were known to use this tactic, they would adjust accordingly (or risk being run over). The good players would simply call more often with lesser values. So any ev gained with this tactic will eventually be lost as the better players catch on.

When torunaments get near the end it frequently is correct to move in with lesser values. So the good players know how to deal with this and do. That's why that tactic will only get you so far, because it actually becomes closer to correct strategy. And since good opponents know this (correct strategy) they call more often late in tourneys. Players using this tactic early are just forcing the good players to use their calling tactic earlier on in the tourney.

Perhaps this guy is not completely convinced about David's system - hence why he's using gorillas and chimpanzees. Anyway, I asked if I could have one to try it out.

We have a chimp available for sale. The price is 3.5 times the annual net income.

This chimp is female and has an annual net earn of $195K. She is 5 yeas old.

The price is 3.5 times the annual earn, or $682.5 thousand dollars. Shipping we pay for.

Sincerely,
Dr. Norm

Dear PrimatePoker,

I am a keen poker player and animal lover.

Is it possible to adopt a poker-playing primate, preferably a chimpanzee
rather than a gorilla as I have a smallish apartment here in Milan, but
a reasonable-sized terrace.

I would like the primate to play on PartyPoker for me when I am at work.
I assume the costs of looking after the primate would be covered by the
winning (do they have any special feeding requirements - pasta is the staple
food here in Italy). Also, would you expect a commission on any of the winnings.

Many thanks
Michael

I thought these fourums were moderated. I left RPG to get away from this monkey spunk.
