Default QQ blind defense

Party Poker 5/10 Hold'em (6 max, 5 handed) converter

Preflop: Hero is SB with Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].
2 folds, Button raises, Hero 3-bets, BB calls, Button caps, Hero calls, BB calls.

Flop: (12 SB) A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (3 players)
Hero checks, BB checks, Button bets, Hero folds

2nd hand at the table. The button seemed to overplay his hands just from the first couple hands I saw from him. Is there any point in going past the flop?

Hard to say. Many TAG's are betting like this with 88-AA, A10-AK when it is a blind war. Many of these hands have you beat, but many do not. I think the flop fold is the safer play, but I know for a fact if I had 1010 here I would bet/raise this flop in hopes of taking it down immediately.

This seems spewy unless your opponent will fold to a donkbet here, which, without a read, I'm not prepared to say at 5/10 and lower...

No. He has position on you and two overcards came on the flop. This flop is one of the worst you could've expected.

Sorry, but pitch those Qs. Cap PF is all you need to know.

I don't know why you would advocate tossing your hand here w/o a strong read. In a typical situation, sure, toss your cards. In a blind steal situation you must be a lot more tenacious in defending and often you are going to call down & win with bottom pair or A-hi.

Normally, I'd agree, however, the PF cap means you are crushed by his range of hands (assuming non-maniac read)

Just by the numbers:
Board: Ac Kd 2s
Dead:

equity (%) win (%) / tie (%)

Hand 1: 34.6405 % [ 00.34 00.01 ] { QsQd }
Hand 2: 65.3595 % [ 00.64 00.01 ] { AA-99, AKs-ATs, KQs, AKo-AJo }

Don't forget it's not heads up, the button called two cold preflop too. Even if he has an awful K2o we're behind.

Both players are almost complete unknowns at this point.

Since you still have the BB in you need to muck this - one of these two is sure to have you beat with both an A and K on the board. If the BB was out I would check raise the flop and fold to a re-raise
