Default Michigan poker room questions

I have only played internet poker and want to try some B&M. I live in Lansing so either Detroit Casinos or Soaring Eagle are options. I would want to start at 2-4 or 3-6. Are those games spread at those casinos and how hard is it to get in a game? Also, what is the rake and how much are you expected to tip the dealer? Thanks.

search you'll find a ton
summary:
soaring eagle > greektown > motorcity (in my opinion)

call ahead to get on the greektown waiting list
greektown spreads 3/6 min, motor city 5/10 min
games are insanely loose passive, although alot of the people throwing money around seem to be migrating to the $100 capped buy in no limit game.

again, search and you can find this infinately more detailed.

Ive never played in Detorit put ive played a lot in soaring eagle and 3/6 is soaring eagle's most popular game but the problem is that there isnt enough tables so you can end up waiting 1-2 hours. Not sure if they let you call ahead they didn't before I moved out here to AZ. On a side note, I am also from Lansing....what part of town are you from?

I'm bored so I'll give you the skinny, but you really should use the search function in the future.

Greektown spreads 3/6 with a 10% rake capped at $5 and a $1 bad beat jackpot drop when the pot hits $20 (so a total of $6 can be taken out of the pot).

You definitely want to call ahead (1-888-771-4FUN), but you only have 1 hour from when you call to check in at the counter so you might need to call from the road coming from Lansing.

Games are like .5/1 online.

"Standard" tip is $1 unless the pot is small (unlikely). I see people tip $2 or $3, but nobody will hassle you if you tip $1 every time.

They also have 5/10 and $50min-$100max No-Limit (and bigger, but hey).

As mentioned, Motor City doesn't have 3/6, just 5/10 and up. Motor City is smaller and more cramped, but fully non-smoking. Greektown, you'll be in the smoking half of the room for 3/6. Bring a gas mask.
