You guys are missing the obvious. Do I have to spell it out for you?

On page 296, Harrington describes The Internet Qualifier: "He's a young kid, he paid $50 or so to get in an online qualifying tournament, he won a free shot to the big show, and now he's staring at more money than he's ever seen before."

Here he is referring to Scott Fischman.

The High-Tech Millionaire: "He made money during the boom of the nineties, retired with his fortune intact, and now needs something to fill his time."

You may think he is referring to Paul Phillips, but he is actually referring to Richard Brodie.

The Down-on-his-Luck Pro: "He might have been a millionaire a few weeks ago, but now he's broke."

It goes without saying that he is referring to Gus Hansen.

The Retired Businessman: "He ran a business for a long time, had a successful career, and has taken up poker as a hobby."

Chris Bigler.

The Wealthy Seasoned Pro: "This guy is one tough hombre."

Sam Grizzle.

He was not referring to anybody else. Just those five guys. Duh.

Have you guys picked up HoH2 yet?

Pg. 296

The High-Tech Millionaire:

"he is not playing poker for money, he is playing to show you how clever he is"

"He will bluff liberally, and he will show you his cards.... so you will know how much smarter than you he is"

"your move was brilliant, but I figured it out. ha ha ha"

Who could he possibly be talking about??

[/ QUOTE ]

Diablo.

But Phil never came off as the "I am so much smarter than you" guy that Paul always does.

I disagree. Phil Gordon had probably the most egotistical move I've seen on TV. He ran a bluff betting on all three streets with a K3 that had totally missed the board. When the other guy in the pot folded on the river, Gordon immediately slammed his cards down face up like he just couldn't wait to show them. He was clearly trying to show the guy up.

[/ QUOTE ]

Playing live with Phil once he spent all his time telling everybody else how bad they played. He ran a ton of bluffs against the live ones and, at least from my standpoint, was the livest one at the table. When I asked him how deep he was he refused to answer but instead started spouting forth about his net worth.

Paul on the other hand has an interesting image at the table and will give lessons but generally doesn't come off like the complete ass that Phil G. did.

Who knows. Maybe I got Phil on a bad day and Paul on good ones.

"I make you feel stupid because that's what you are"

If the above doesn't prove my point, I don't know what will.

Paul has to know that his remark bolsters my argument while undermining his, but, even in these circumstances, he has such a pathetic need to condescend that he just CAN’T resist. It's sad.

[/ QUOTE ]

And why should it bother you either way?

[ QUOTE ]
I'll give you this, Paul, at least you managed to post this time without mentioning cocks.

[/ QUOTE ]

Yet you couldn't resist.

Look carefully, I agree there are a ton of wealthy folks in the poker world.

The old adage: 'It Takes Money to Make $' holds up well in poker as well.

Us wannabes strive to get there ourselves, and there is no shame in that, either.

Ah! The unhealthy egos of most people, this world is in a pickle because of it.

This forum is just another example of people not being able to get along.

Jealous?
