Default The Official How\'d you Get to Work in NYC Thread

I took the PATH instead of the subway. It was cheaper, came astonishingly quickly after just missing one, and was no more crowded than the subway. I may continue to use it post strike.

Others?

Today: Got a ride from a colleague up to White Plains. (I live in Wash. Heights and normally go down to 125th to catch Metro North up to Westchester.

Tonight: Taking Metro North back into Grand Central. Walk over to Penn Station. Take LIRR to Little Neck. Get picked up by parents and take car from them as they are on vacation starting tomorrow.

Rest of week: Work from home or drive up to WP with car.

Car pool staging point in Park Slope. Got in a car within 5 minutes, and got through the Battery Tunnel with zero problems. This was around 7 AM though, I'm sure things got harder later.

Train to Penn Station, walked 20 blocks. It's odd, I just moved to NJ and it would have been harder to get to work if I still lived in Manhattan.

1.34 miles by car, probably more on the order of a mile by foot. If you're suggesting I walk in this weather when I don't have to, you're nuts.

I cannot move into my new apt for about 6 months due to renovations, so Im splitting time at my GF's in Wash. Heights and upstate at my parents (only about 19 miles away).

I usually stay with the GF during the week but went upstate last night due to the impending strike. It was no problem as I drove in with my mother and cousin (we all work above 96th).

I did get out of the car about 20 blocks early and walked due to bad traffic on Broadway
