Default KK in live 2/5 NL

Playing a 2/5 NL home game. 8-handed.

Weekly game everyone knows everyone very well. Villian is aggressive and solid, but can be a little loose. Game just started all stacks are near $200.

UTG folds. Hero gets K [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]K [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] UTG+1 and raises to $15 (standard raise). Folded to villian on the button who calls, SB and the BB comes along.

3 to the flop

7 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 10 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 4 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

BB checks, Hero bets 30, Villian goes all-in.

BB folds.

Hero???

with a straight/flush draw on board these decisions are always the most diffucult. If you know he would rarely semi-bluff then this is an easy fold. You could definately be looking at a set possibility. I would lay this one down. Seems like your a small fav. or bid dog situation.

stacks are 40bbs and you have an overpair. why would you ever fold?

Default RESULTS

I called and villian showed 8 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]9 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. Turn was J [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] river was Q [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. He made his straight and stacked me.

Nearly everyone here would have made the call. Would others here have pushed on the OESFD if you were the villian?

Thanks,
Vince

the only way i wouldn't immediately push with the OESFD is if I convinced myself that you had AKc and I would still end up doing it probably.
15 outs always looks good with two cards to come.

I hope you realize that although you lose the flush outs, you pick up 6 pair outs to a winning hand, although he has a good redraw if you hit.

He had to push you had to call. Decisions are pretty straight forward with stacks that shallow.

If you think you had a read on him (loose), then the call was correct regardless of the outcome. The only reason I like his play is the limited stacks to start. If he made that play in a bigger stack game, it would probably let him win a small one or lose a big one most of the time.
