Default bodog ad in cardplayer vol18/18 inside back cover

Ad states "deposit $100 and get $100 free right away". the title is NO BULLS#!T.
Well you still have to work it off at the tune of 300 bodog points which takes a very long time at a $1/$2 table. I did call and this is the answer I received. It's not really "free" as it does have restrictions although you can lose it and there is no penalty beofore you work it off.

The ad gives you the impression there are no requirements for the matching $100 bonus. I did read it over numerous times. I still feel the ad is very misleading and this kind of advertising is what will sour some when the time comes to judge on-line poker.

THey could have easily added a line in the ad saying you must work off the bonus. They even keep how many points you need to work it off a mystery till you call up. A bit sleezy?- you judge. Nothing at all on the site telling you you need 300 bodog points to work off the "free" $100 bonus that has no "strings" attached!

Wow you mean they don't just hand you $100 and let you cash it out?

Yeah I'd feel so screwed....

That's waht they state. It's a very misleading ad-read it if you can. I have already taken bonuses like this at different sites. they were not uncommon in the early days. Obvious you haven't been playing on-liner poker too long. Also I must apologize for posting this under the wrong category.
The bodog point system only awards you points or fractions there of when you contribute money to the pot. So if you muck you get zero. Therefore this is the hardest bonus I have ever seen to work off. Much worse than UB even.

I'm not sure if you only get rewarded points for contributing to the pot. The bonus (I've used it several times) cleared pretty fast for me. I heard its even better if you're a SnG player.

Familiarize yourself with FTPs bonus, this one will look incredible. Also beats UBs new system by a long way.

It's called truth in advertising. I did give them a few hours and thought it would be sufficient since they had no requirements on the $100 match. You obviously have a monetary or some other interest with bodog.
I state the facts-read the ad in Cardplayer-that is if you can understand English. Why advertise this if it is not true. State you must aquire 300 bodog points to work off the $100 bonus or say in the ad there are requirements in writing at the site.
Not going to beat this to death anymore-anyone can read the ad for themselves. Like I said I posted this under the wrong heading anyways. If the whole thread can be moved that would be a plus.

The give you the money right away to play with and if you lose the 100 bucks they give you before the bonus hits well you dont have to pay it back. That is pretty much as good as it gets, I dont see the problem. If a site offered me a free hundy to play with right away I wont be complaining that the bonus takes a while to clear. Besides if you play stud every hand counts as contributed if it is raked.

So with the SPACE they pay for, they should explain how thier bonus system works? Give me a break. How can you beat $100 instantly to gamble with? You cant. The fact that they don't allow you to take thier money and withdraw without giving them any business should be common sense.
