Default When I watch a video......

I get major problems happening within my computer. I've been able to view a couple of videos, but I'd say 2/3 videos are met with the same message.

I just recorded my own, and trying to watch that has yielded the same results.

I've even tried it on multiple media players with no luck.

When I push play, the screen goes completely black for about 5 seconds. Eventually, I hear an audible click and the screen comes back.

I receive an "error message" that states:

ialmrnt5 display driver has stopped working normally.

After the message is "ok'd" my computer resolution is huge and it looks like somone splashed psychadelic watercolors all over it.

Anyone have a solution to this dilemma?

Try the Computer Tech Help forum. If I had to guess I would say is a video card driver or media player driver issue. Try to get the latest drivers for everything.

Actually I crossposted it there. No bites yet.

I don't know the first thing about "drivers" other than the basic purpose they serve.

What should I be getting?

Can someone link me up to something?

Much appreciated.

Cookies and milk for all y'all.

Smoking pot is confirmed not to improve your game. I suggest you quit doing it, at least while playing poker.

Dude. There's a reason why we have different forums according to topics/subject matter. IF a 5/10 full ring NL player doesn't get any answer or the answer he's looking for about a 5/10 NL game he played, he doesn't start posting in the 6-max forums or the limit fourms, now does he? Stick to Comp Tech help.

sounds to me like your video card is not capable of screening the videos at the resolution the video requires. Say your desktop is set to 800x600, 24bit colour, but the video wants the screen to be 1600x1200, 32bit colour. When you start the file, it tries to automatically adjust the resolution. If your video card can't handle it, it goes "poop!" and defaults to like 640x480, 16 colours. You then have to readjust the resolution back to what it was to start.

My advice would be:
1) find out what make your video card is; go to the company website and see if there's an updated driver. If so, install and try again. If it fails, your video card isn't up to the task

2) try other forums, there are loads of forums on the internet devoted to video card discussion, many of them more cliquey and geekier than here.

3) buy a new PC

4) dont watch poker videos, stick to porn.

I only know the problem because i've heard similar ones in the past; hope it works out for you as the videos are one hell of a learning tool.

Pete
