Default Update on order

I sent in all the info to TR King so I can get a firm price quote. I still am trying to get the specific color for the edge spots on the 25 and 500 chip but I need to look at samples of his chips before I make a decision. Remember, the goal is to get as close to the chips KGB uses in Rounders. However, since we never really see any chips except for the 25, 100, and 500 I'm taking liberties to make the others how I think they would make the set look best.
I will post the information from the quote as soon as I have it, but I wanted to answer questions that have arisen:
aaronjacobg - I just make the chips up in Illustrator. I didn't measure anything so it's possible the spots are slightly smaller, larger, fatter, whatever, but I figured they would be close enough to communicate what I wanted to do. I do plan on going through with the order, but if I don't for some reason, I will send you the file so you can print them on your own - all I would ask if for 1 chip of each denom in exchange for use of the file.
Triple C - I don't want to use a white chip in this set because white gets dirty and ghetto looking fast. Also, in the casinos that I've used a .25 or .50 chip (as opposed to real coins) it's always some bright color.
KungFuSandwich - I asked TR King about the deeper edge spots when I sent in the quote so I'll let you know what I find out. Also, pokerchips and kardwell (both ASM) DO NOT offer anything other than the 3 spot chips. I've asked them both and it's not an option.
PokerCrew - if you're willing to pay shipping I don't mind shipping anywhere in the world. I am probably going to accept VISA and MC through my online store at rocketstar.com. I will accept cash and MO's and use escrow for those that want the added safety. The buyer will have to pay all the fees assiciated with the corresponding payment method though. (including processing fees for credit cards).
Keelhaul - I thought about doing a plain .25 chip, but I hate foil stamping, and I figured if I was going to make a real nice set I might as well spend the extra to have spots on everything. I just ordered a set from pokerchips.com and was bummed ones I got them that I didn't spend the extra money on custom centers - hence this set.
duma - I plan on doing 25 c, I just didn't know how to make the symbol. There's no chip that I could think of saving the moon spots for unless we go all the way to 10,000. Even when I do 10,000 buy in 35 man tournaments we only use 5 10,000 chips. I don't see them being worth printing. The $25 spots are a peach color and the 500 are arc yellow. I need to get samples from TR King to make sure they are as close as possible to the movie. But, I don't know if his colors will match pokerchips.com's colors exactly. We may just have to get very close, but not perfect.
PinataUT - I like the ideas you suggested, but I want to keep with the theme of staying with the movie's colors. Then I went with the theme of the chips going from less ornaite to more complex as the value increased.
Fins - thanks for the help with the cent symbol. I use a mac so I hope it works for me. I couldn't find it so I just gave up. The black and red center is not what I'm limited to, but since we're trying to copy Rounders that's what we're going with for this order.

I think that's pretty much everything. I'll let people know what info I get from TR King as soon as I get it. I'm shooting for a Feb 1st start date for collecting money. They I'll give everyone 2 weeks to get their money to me before I place the order.
If you have anymore questions feel free to ask.

I talked to TR King and you can get the deeper edgespots if you ask.

Im not a fan of the three edgespot chips. Also if you look at the picture on pokerchips.com (or earlier in this post) you can see the $1 chip is white with 4 red edgespots. There is no KGB $5 visible but there is a chesterfield chip and it has 4 green edgespots.

I personally would prefer the $1 and $5 chips be closer to the movie but obviously get others opinions first. Good Luck

This looks verry promising ericslagle!
I just have 2 more questions i need answer to before i decide if im going with these chips.

1. Are you willing to ship the chips marked as gift? This has no effect on you, but a huge effect on me. Because in Norway, we have to pay 24% tax to anything imported to Norway that cost more than 30$. But if you mark the shipment as gift and with a value of around 30 bucks i dont have to pay extra tax.

2. Anyone know ca. what shipping 400 chips to Norway (Europe) the cheapest way wil cost?

I agreee w/KungFu about the edgespots, deeper is better if at all possible.

One thing that would be cool (at least to me) is if you had another symbol on the backside of each chip (so that both sides aren't the bear). Like the Chesterfield logo, but with different text. The yellow starbust of that logo adds a lot of visual appeal to the chip IMO.

As far as what specific text, I don't have a clue. something like

"2+2 Poker Addict" or some such nonesense. I leave that to the wittier folks on the board.

In any event, great effort on your part Eric, thank you!

Regards,
Francis

Unfortunately, different images on the front and back of the chips would probably drive up the price.

I prefer to keep the design closest to the movie chip design. That means the same bear image on both sides. I would also prefer no mention of 2+2 or anything like that on the chip. The idea here it to have a KGB chipset.

after studying the movie and capturing some images i have determined that it is a bright orange that they use on the $25. the $500's edges look pink from a distance but up close they are a tanish yellowish color. not bright yellow. and after going to the trking website this is their listed colors...
Other Colors
Pink
Purple
Gray
Tan
Off White
Gold
Light Gold
Turquoise
Light Turquoise
Light Green

we will have to see what tan and light gold look like from samples. this will probably be the best match. i am also wondering if the inlay will be too big. pokerchips.com inlays are probably smaller than the trkings and will this look too plain? alot more white will be on the chip and im worried it wont look as good.

and to get this off my chest, let me just give a big F YOU to pokerchips.com for not letting us customize the edge spots. it shows they dont give a rats ass about their customers.

I am still baffled over the edgespot restrictions on ASM chips. Love their chips, hate their edge spot restrictions.

I mean, there's no reason in the world why they should have lost this order to TR King, but they managed to do it with that stupid restriction.
