Re: Winner in real casino, Total Fish online
[ QUOTE ]
I've thought about this a lot more, and besides the inability to go to a real casino, why should anybody play online ???? [/ QUOTE ] Less rake, no tokes, more hands, more convenient. |

Re: Winner in real casino, Total Fish online
Plus they spread more games, and tourneys. Most of the casinos near me run tourneys during the daytime, and they are usually re-buy games.
Also, there are just so many more games to play online. Most notibly are max-buy in No Limit and low limit Omaha8. Most B&M casinos don't spread max-buy in NL because they want all players to contribute to the rake for several hours. In a 25$ NL game on party, players bust out left and right. Low limit Omaha is not spread often because it's harder to deal. It's actually impossible to deal at some casinos where they don't have chip denominations small enough to fairly chop four or five way pots. There are also a few cool games online, that I personally find very exciting. 5 card stud no limit, and 7-2 lowball triple draw. I've never seen either one spread at a casino near me. |

I don't want to play a bazillion more hands if I don't have an edge.

Re: Winner in real casino, Total Fish online
my local indian casino has texas holdem, 7 card stud, and omaha hi/lo 24/7/365 and its not even a large place. That should be plenty for all but the most experienced players.

Re: Winner in real casino, Total Fish online
For the guy who suggested online limits are tougher, in general they are but it depends on what the sites minimum level is. Sites where there minimum is 1/2 generally have soft 1/2 games and get noticebly rockish as you go up. Also if anybody things the bird games at Party .5/1 are tougher than the lowest Casino live limit should go to a Casino white game they are the same thing totally retardly loose.

Re: Winner in real casino, Total Fish online
The answer to your problem is simple. Stay at your casino, and don't play online. |

Re: Winner in real casino, Total Fish online
I am surprised to see that no one has pointed out the obvious answer to your problem. You have problably not played a significant amount of live poker to realize that you might have only run into some short term luck there. From the way it sounds, you just do not have enough skill to be a consistent winner at the 1/2 level. If you can not beat this level consistently online, you must be doing something wrong- that's all there is to it.

Re: Winner in real casino, Total Fish online
I'm thinking that, since you said you play with pretty much the same group at the B&M, you're probably customizing your game for those people. This is likely deviating from "solid poker" so when you get online, where solid poker wins the day, your customized play isn't making it there. Even at the lowest limits, online poker is tighter then bottom limit B&M poker. If you can't stick to fundamentals poker there, you're gonna get eaten alive.

Re: Winner in real casino, Total Fish online
Hey. There are significant amounts of money to be made playing online poker. This is going to take time, however. You need to be constantly wanting to improve and do so at a faster rate than your opponents. Play at Party Poker. I started up on Paradise and was grinding out the 2/4 and 3/6 for a long time until I discovered the glory that is Party Poker. If you play "tight and aggressive" poker as you claim, you should absolutely chop up these games. You should probably do so right up the line to 15/30 as long as you have the bankroll. But Poker, just like anything else, takes hard work. You need to study - read the books already suggested and take your hard knocks before you go believing that people are trying to cheat you out of your 50 cents and 1 dollar bets. So in this order - read, go to party poker, practice, and move up. Playing in a casino is more fun, but online seems far more practical.
