Default PP Million Qualfiers $500 x (1 seat/per) 35 entrants = $17500

Isn't the buy-in $10,000? $7500 for a cruise seems like a whole lot. How does that compare to what they did last year?

Where are PP WSOP qualifiers staying in Vegas?

the buy-in last year was $10k.

I believe the buy-in this year is either $14k or $15k. It's on their web-site.

Party players at the WSOP are staying at the MGM-Grand I think.
PokerStars players (that would include me) are staying at the Treasure Isl.

Anyway - party seems proud of the fact that they have the biggest limit tourney in the world. $1.5-mil for 1st and $1-mil for 2nd last year. They had 740 players at $10k apiece.

Party has gotten more and more players for this every year (and thus larger prize-pools and more profits for them every year).
But that isn't as much of an option anymore as there is only so much room on the boat.
thus, it looks like their next option to get more money out of it is to increase the EF...because they just wouldn't be able to accomodate a tourney with many more players than what they had last year imo.

Could someone explain these Frequent player bonus points (or whatever they are)

As far as I can tell Party doesn't GIVE anything away. They just have some players start with more chips than others.
So if I want to play the tourney at Party and don't have a large number of 'bonus' points or whatever.
Basically not only do I have the honor of paying Party $35 to play in the tourney but my $500 buy in is IMMEDIATELY worth consaiderably less than $500.

So if everyone else starts with an average of 2,000 chips and I start with 1,000 I am effectively paying a $35 fee PLUS another $250 fee to enter (as my $500 starting value is only half of the average persons)
So I pay $535 for $250 worth of chips A $285 ADD ON FEE

If this is true why would ANYONE (without the full 3,000 starting chips) play in this thing?

Can anyone verify? I am simply amazed! (It seems to me Party should add another seat for every 35,000 addt chips they give away in 'bonus' but that doesn't appear to be the case) Please tell me I'm missing something.

Default Be very wary of this!!!

I AM AMAZED!!!

makes the PPM. 500 * $35 = $17,500 this makes sense.

only realistically worth 1/2 of what it was. But when you add chips you do
not add any prizes to the pool???? How is that GIVING away anything? I
don't follow?

chips in the tourney? My thought is this the only thing that makes sense
yet I don't read it that way.

how can you claim to be 'giving away' anything? You are mearly punishing
the players who do not play a lot on your site and overcharging them for
this tourney. Correct?

OK so let me get this right.

If the average players (the avid players at our site) start with an average
of 2,000 chips. (And let's assume there are 69 of them).

And I decide to play and get 1,000 chips.

The total prize pool is $35,000. (2 packages @ $17,500) and there are
139,000 (69 * 2,000 + 1 * 1,000) starting chips. Isn't my initial stack
worth a value of $35,000 * 1,000 / 139,000 = $251.80.
So I am paying $535 - $251.80 (EV) = A $283.20 add on fee!!

If you do not add additional funds to the prize pool and you give other
players addt chips how is that not the same as taking chips from me?
