Jacks facing lots of action?
Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ Hero (6 max, 6 handed) pokerhand.org hand converter
CO ($126.85) Button ($172.93) SB ($91.97) Hero ($163.05) UTG ($121.10) MP ($174.50) Preflop: Hero is BB with J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. SB posts a blind of $0.50. UTG raises to $4, MP calls $4, CO raises to $9, Button calls $9, SB (poster) calls $8.50, 1 fold, UTG calls $5, MP calls $5. Most players where reasonable except button who was very loose, and had constantly been overbeting the flop, but usually in small and medium pots. Can i call preflop here for set value? I folded since i was afraid for a reraise from UTG. Standard? |

Re: Jacks facing lots of action?
I would call this for set value. Of course, there's always the possibility of a reraise from UTG, but he will do that pretty rarely. Also, you get very good odds (both immediate and implied) with all those callers in between.
Also, next time don't show the flop in your post, since that may influence the responses. Dumle |

Re: Jacks facing lots of action?
I call. If you do hit your set, you're winning a huge pot.
The possibility of UTG reraising is a bit scary, but I call anyway. |

Re: Jacks facing lots of action?
if UTGs opening range is wider than AA-QQ, AK, yes i call here every day
it was a mini-raise from CO .... you have JJ .... stacks of people in there are big enough to be worth it too plus it looks like it's gonna be a huge pot call for set value |
