Try asking some middle class swedes or norwegians if they would trade their lifestyle for that of a middle class person in the US. Go ahead, ask them.

So the fact that some people enjoy a policy makes it just?

Like I've said before, it's not surprising that plunderers enjoy plundering.

If the economic policy is pretty much widely supported throughout the society, is it plundering?

Do you understand the concept of "general consensus"?

So because of the will of the "general consensus", I should have to relinquish my hard earned money against my will?

I contend that "society" is not something whose will can be defined. As I have said tons of times, I have no problem if certain individuals want to participate in socialist practices... just don't force me into it.

So the lynched should go cheerfully to the noose because the mob is unanimous? After all, if the mob all agree, is it murder?

I just visited Ireland this year with my wife - just a wonderful country, tremendously friendly and gracious people, and an astonishing, booming economy.

People there are expecting things to slow down somewhat economically, but still the people of Ireland are (justly) proud of what they have accomplished in the last decade.

You act as if the wealthy there are protesting the current system. If they don't protest it, is there still aproblem?

If 95% of the people in the country feel a certain way (and I admit I am just making up that figure), I feel that makes a concsensus.

If 100% of the people *want* it, then there's not a problem.

"Not protesting" is not the same as "wanting".

There's 20 people (including yourself) on an island. Two of the people want to kill you, the other 17 don't protest. Is your murder now justified? What if they just want to make you plow their field? What if all 19 want to join in your oppression? Hey, it's a consensus!

If they're all for it, why isn't the system voluntary? I think you know the answer.
