Default Hey everybody - I\'m whining to Party again!!

Considering that I probably got a bit better than I deserved in my last situation I'm not sure I'm going to pursue this one much further.
I almost feel bad about 'making a stink' as it were.

However, it is another situation that I don't think Party is handling correctly.

If they admit to a problem with their software then why shouldn't I be compensated some for the problem in that software?

I almost laughed when I got re-connected and saw that I was not awarded the pot....because I started thinking, "well...guess I get to drop another line to party cust-support."

Oh well...no huge worries here.

I might actually defer to the judgement of the zoo as to whether to continue pursuing this matter or not.

Again...please note in the e-mail correspondance that Party admits it was a flaw in their disconnect-protect feature.

As always...ENJOY!!

--------------------------------------

Hi there - I was disconnected in hand #xxxxxxxxxx but my disconnect-protect was not enabled.

I was wondering why this was.

I had my full allotment of disconnect-protects when I started playing...and when I reconnected I got a pop-up telling me that I no longer had any disconnect-protects available.

If I no longer had any available, then doesn't that mean that my DP's were used?

Why wasn't I put all-in and be allowed to win this hand?

Thank you,
Bob

Dear Bob,

Thank you for contacting us.

We apologize for the inconvenience caused in this regard.
While checking the hand history, we see that your disconnect protection
was not enabled and you have lost $35 in this hand. We have escalated
the issue to the Technical team, who would check on same and get this
resolved. However, as a sign of good faith we have added the $35 back to
your account.

We appreciate your cooperation and understanding in this regard.

Thank you for choosing us as your online gaming site!

Thank you for the $35.

However, please note that in the hand I had a full-house (Tens over Aces).
My hand was practically guaranteed to win the pot (the only hand that could have beaten my AT would have been someone with AA...and I highly doubt my opponent had AA).

Of course, you can check the hole-cards of the other players to make sure that I did indeed have the best hand.

$35 is only the amount that I had bet into it.
The pot was significantly larger than that.

Is further compensation warranted in such a situation?

If it was a flaw in the software that did not enable the disconnect-protect properly then I believe I should be awarded the amount of money in the pot at the time of my disconnect.

Thank you.
Bob

Dear Bob,

Thank you for contacting us.

We understand that there was a problem in the hand (disconnect protection was not enabled). It is also seen that you would have won the hand
if you were connected to the table or the disconnect protect was enabled. However, as there was a problem with the feature, money was awarded to the next best hand.

If you notice the fact we did try to compensate with the best that can
be done. We can assure you that the problem you have faced will be
fixed, but then will not be able to compensate any further.

Thank you for choosing us as your online gaming site!

Party should either give you the entire amount you would have won or nothing at all. By only giving you some of the money you would have won, Party is sending a mixed signal. "Yeah, our software caused you to lose the pot, but we're only willing to take respobsibility up to a point."

I did not think you were whining in the other post (although I would have simply given you one buy-in as compensation) nor do I think you are in this one.

Party advertises a "Disconnect Protect" feature as a benefit to customers. Unless you were multitabling and the DP's were used on other tables prior to this one, then you should have won the pot.

[/ QUOTE ] Since it was a fault of their's they should compensate you for the full pot amount since that is what an appriopriately functioning DP feature would have done. Refunding only your investment in the pot is ridiculous.

Yeah...that's kind of what I thought as well.
It's either their fault that the DP didn't work or it isn't.

I was on 3 party tables at the time.

But one of those was a single-table satellite....and I don't think it was used on that. I returned fairly quickly and I wasn't even sitting-out on that table when I got back.

I still had 15 seconds to act on my hand at that table (having just folded PF on the previous hand right before the disconnect).

So I really don't think that my DP's were all used up and it should have gone into effect on the table where I had the full-house.

Instead of banging my head against the wall with party-support I've decided to bug Mike O'Malley again about it with DEEP apologies for being such a whiner and getting into yet another situation so shortly after they were so generous the last time around.

FWIW - I can remember several MONTHS going by without having to contact party, empire or stars support about anything at all.
But I've had 3 situations develop this week and it's getting kind of weird.

(the other situation I reported on over in the affiliates forum...I hadn't gotten paid for my October play by the VIP-club...and then when they paid me they shorted me by $125 because they completely forgot that they had promised a different amount. but that got straightened out pretty quickly)

They might take it seriously...but I don't think it's appropriate in this situation. Nor would I be interested in resorting to such tactics.

"Pay me or I'll stop playing on your site" just isn't my style.

I think this new situation deserves much more compensation than the last one. I hope you get your money.

Maybe we should start a thread about all the situations where Party has screwed us with their standard e-mails and haven't compensated us as we deserved.

We could dedicate the thread to "Mr. Enjoy" and see how he reacts......

Out of topic but about Party Gaming anyway, I took a shot at their Starluck casino (100% first sign-up bonus up to 100$) As a dane, I had to wager the 200$ 24 times instead of the usual 8 and after I had spent 3 hours at the BJ table, I had 300$. I then contacted their support to make sure I had met the clearing conditions and a very nice lady congratulated me telling me that now I could cash out, which I did. 10 days later, as there was no sign of the money in my neteller account, I contacted them again and got to know that they had to verify my play and the amount I had won and that it was scheduled in a week. Mentionning that I was preferred player at Party didn't help (even if it is the same people that handles the cashouts).

Maybe "Mr. Enjoy" can explain to them what the odds are that I ever show myself at a place that takes almost 3 weeks to pay you (if they do pay at all).

why would you keep playing at party when hands like this cost you 4 or 5 hours of playing 2BB/100 poker? I don't get it....

Bob,

Other than you feel its embarassing to be emailing them in such short succession about problems that cost you money (or potentially cost you money anyway in the other stalling/collusion thread) I don't see why you should back off.

If these incidents happened six months appart would you pursue them fully? I suspect you would. If PP has made a mistake and you believe you should be compensanted, I see no reason not to pursue it to a conclusion, whether that be in your favor or not.

You don't need to be embarrassed to stand up for yourself when it's PP that is making the mistake.
