Default the I met jake the bake thread

apparenly this thread is controversial and people's feelings have been hurt. How i'm not sure. I was asked to delete by mutiple people. However I don't really feel like a thread that large should be deleted when it doesnt really seem violate the T&C's and its my understanding that deleting threads is more profound than say banning users which can be undone.

I'd like some input please.

Commodus and I were just discussing moving this thread here.

I see no reason to delete it. But, there's really no loss in locking it.

my problem with deleting it is this.

Voltron started a thread about taking the SAT's for someone which was quite popular. A day or so ago he PM'd me wanting it deleted out of fear of it somehow coming back to haunt him. My reaction was well you should think about that before starting a thread and im not going delete what is now 2p2 property for no reason.

I sort of feel the same towards this thread.

Yea I think lock and bury is a good route. I mean, if you're gonna do what they did, it's going to come back to OOT, period.

That was my exact reaction. If you make something known amongst a bunch of OOTers of course a post is going to happen. The fact that some girl is getting her feelings hurt shouldn't be Moderating issue IMO.

I think the thread in question is a good illustration of when to use the lock function.
