I agree its a loose/bad call and that the hand sucks but I can think of WAY worse hands. Surely you are exagerating here.

I am not exaggerating.

The worst hands in LO8 are the quads and trips hands. The next worst categories of hands after that are
- low pairs with unconnected higher cards when one of them is 9+ (ie. 228T)
- 3 unconnected high cards with 1 low dangler (ie. KJ92)


I’ll look in Bill Boston’s book when I get home if someone doesn’t post it first, but I’ll guess this is rated something like 4200 out of 5200 for a bottom 20% of hands. Maybe equivalent to cold calling a raise in holdem with T2o. Boston’s book has its flaws but it’s a reasonable approximation of how good this hand is in a tight/agro game.
